"CREATE VARIABLE" would not execute

nothing is happening when I am trying to execute below statement:

CREATE VARIABLE db2admin.c_timestamp_format VARCHAR(40) DEFAULT 'YYYY-MM-DD H24H:MI:SS.FF';
