copied all the dll into the sqldbx folder
chose PostgreSQL from the dropdown
when I enter server name (or port number) i get an error box "Drivers does not support this type of connection (ANSI or UNICODE)"
can i please get a bit of help so i can give this software a try

Are you faimiliar with setting up an odbc connection ?
Control panel > Admin > Odbc
You can also access the ODBC administrator tool via the menu en SQLDBX, menu, Tools, ODBC administrator.
SQLDBX will use the ODBC config parameters to connect to your postgresql database.
A while back when Windows started shipping with 64bit processors, users had to install two (!!) ODBC drivers ,
one for 32 bits PCs and the other for 64 bit PCs .... even if you PC was a 64 bit PC.
I hope that yopu have not encountered that particular problem as it was all a bit of a nightmare.
I hoe you do get SQLDBX and ODBC and Postgresql to work together.
It's a good team once it's all up and running.
I gave been using it almost every day for about 7 years.
Good stuff.

Jason

I am not sure what version of SqlDbx you use, but from error message looks like not the latest.
Try the following:
1. Download latest version.
2. Create Drivers directory under the directory where SqlDbx.exe located.
3. Copy PostgreSQL ODBC drivers to this directory
4. Start SqlDbx and enable Application Log. Tools->View Application Log.
5. Try to connect. Do you see any connection related messages in Application Log window?
