Hive Database and Object Explorer

Hi all! I was able to connect to a Hive database using a MapR driver and ODBC connection. The queries work fine, but I can't see any of the tables in the Object Browser. My team usually relies on the Object Browser to...browse objects...so I am trying to find out whether this is something we could potentially fix, or if it's a definite limitation of ODBC. Has anyone had experience with missing tables in object browser using ODBC, especially if you're using Hive?

Re: Hive Database and Object Explorer

This is definitely something we can look into.
Unfortunately we do not have any experience with MapR ODBC driver or Hive database,
so it's hard to say how long it will take to resolve this issue.

Re: Hive Database and Object Explorer

ashleym8:  I have installed v4.17 SqlDbx, MapR driver 3.02 client 32 bit, tests out ok via control panel User DSN entry and have connected to a Hive and can see tables etc.  Seem lacking in meta-data capability.  I have noting set under ODBC advanced options.
