Getting the above error when connecting via DBMS type 'Sybase Anywhere', but not when using 'Sybase ASE'.

Are you connecting to Anywhere or ASE and what version?

You can not connect to ASE through Anywhere DBMS type.
They are very different database.
I am not sure why you need to do this.

It connects much faster to the database compared to ASE due to non-loading of objects info.
Is it possible to build this option into ASE?
