Executing Mutliple SQL simultaneously across multiple script tabs

Is there an capability to run mutliple queries/SQL simultaneously .e.g non serially...without having to create addtional connection instances.

Just noticed a previous post which asked the same question and it appears the answer is this is not possible at this time..

If this has changed please advise..
