Parse DB2 SQL

When I write an UPDATE statement and click on the Parse option (Query > Parse), should it not just check the SQL and show any errors rather than running the actual script if there aren't any errors?

If so, on my copy it seems to run the script when you click parse.

If not, how can I check the syntax of my SQL without actually running it?

Re: Parse DB2 SQL

This option is not currently supported for DB2.
It's supported only for Sybase and Microsoft servers

Re: Parse DB2 SQL

Ah, that would explain it then!

Any idea if it might get added?

Re: Parse DB2 SQL

This option depends on database server or client software implementing it.
We are not aware of this feature being available in DB2
