Firewall Timeouts

We have a situation where a firewall in front of the database breaks our connection after 1 hour. Firewall parameters are  not going to change. It is fairly inconvenient because we are closing and reopening SqlDbx often throughout the day. We would LOVE a feature where we force a call to the database at a detemined interval to keep the Firewall active.

For example, I can choose a SELECT statement and a time interval (every 30 minutes), then SqlDbx simply runs it every 30 minutes.

We can use this two weeks ago!!

Re: Firewall Timeouts

I am not sure why in this situation you need to restart. Why not to use reconnect?

Re: Firewall Timeouts

I overlooked having the Reconnect option! We can use it. It would still be nice to not have to use it, and have an interval process. smile

Re: Firewall Timeouts

It is a firewall issue.  I don't think SQLDbx should add features to solve problems created by your firewall group (or any other external entity).

Let's keep the .exe as small as possible, and stop program bloat!
